Nexus_University is the musebox of GradeonMagus and ExpositionFairy.
It is based on a weird little freeform RPG of our youth where some sort of extradimensional force is ripping holes in the mundane reality (the real world, RL, usually called 'Realside' in the fluff) and causing one of two effects:
* Imbuing a real world person with the powers of one of their alternate selves.
* Depositing confused fictional characters from all over the alignment spectrum into an unsuspecting and alien world but their deeds are (usually) well cataloged in our media.
The most basic point of the game is for the heroic Realsider/Othersiders to band together to fight the villainous ones while figuring out the mystery behind the 'rifts'. This metaplot will continue every other in-game week or so. Players are encouraged to run their own plotlines as well - just talk to GradeonMagus (leangle83) on Plurk so we can work out any questionable details prior to the plot start.
This is meant to be a 'meta' game, which means that other characters can know about who/what your character is and where they are from. This isn't for everyone, but this is how the game works. However, we will not abide by characters being overly intrusive towards yours (y'know, the disgusting fanboy archetype that clings onto their waifus?), but it will be dealt with in an IC manner.
The current setting is a fictionalized Orlando, Florida which is more like New York City built by the Disney architects. A growing information page can be found here
No backtagging to weeks your character wasn't in game for - if your character intro'd in week 3 they cannot backtag into week 1 or 2, for example.
And finally! If you want to bring someone new in, please ask us first. We don't want this to become a 100-character game that we can't keep up with.

If you wanna play, then go to our character page and post a comment with the following:
* A means of contacting you (a Plurk or AIM username)
* Your character's name
* The series they are from (marked AU if an alternate canon)
* Their alignment (Hero/Neutral/Villain).
We don't mind if you use one journal for all your characters as long as you mark each character with a separate icon.
Once you've posted, we'll get in touch with you and work out the details on their introduction.
